Dear Class of 2020:

Congratulations on your graduation!  I am very proud of the work you’ve done over the last three years.  I greatly enjoyed the time we spent time together in intellectual property law classes, and I am grateful that I had an opportunity to work with some of you individually on cert papers and journal articles.  Many of you provided outstanding assistance to your clients in the Intellectual Property and Entrepreneurship Clinic, where you helped new companies launch their business endeavors and protect their inventions and trademarks.  It was a privilege to witness your tremendous growth and development, and hopefully to contribute to it in some small way.  I’m disappointed that that I cannot congratulate each one of you in person today, but I look forward to a time when we can gather in person to honor your accomplishments.  Until then, all my best wishes as you embark on your new careers.  Welcome to the legal profession!
