What was your most memorable law school moment?
My most memorable law school moment was when my Immigration Clinic clients were granted asylum after having to go to court on three separate occasions. Nothing will compare to the look of joy and relief on their faces when they found out they no longer had to live in fear and could really start building their lives in the United States.
Finish this sentence: I could not have gotten through law school without…
My friends: Lauren Wilhelm, Jordan Kramer, Gia Grimm, Alba Sanchez Fabelo, Jacob Lichtenbaum, Juan Parcero, Andrew Do. Without them to complain to or celebrate with, law school would not have been the same.
Who are your mentors? How have they impacted your journey?
I wouldn’t be half the advocate I am today without the guidance I received from Professor Sweeney and Gabriela Kahrl. They are both my greatest supporters (sometimes, even more so than my mom, which is saying something!) and they often have faith in me when I lack faith in myself. Without them pushing me and giving me independence with my clinic cases, I would never have come to understand my full potential. I hope to make them proud with all my future endeavors.
Who was your favorite professor and why?
Professor Steinzor: who was a guiding light during a dark time.
Professor Gifford: who challenged me during my very first semester in law school.
Professor Monopoli: who always involved me in her amazing projects and is always looking for ways to help me succeed.
Professor Sweeney: who is the reason I got to experience some of my best moments in law school.
Gabriela Kahrl: who will forever be the greatest hype woman I have ever had.
