Congratulations to the JD Classes of July 2019, December 2019, and May 2020!

Time has flown! I really can’t believe it. I will miss you so much. You have all worked so hard to get to this moment and you should be very proud of yourselves.  It has been a pleasure to get to know your class, to learn about your goals and dreams, and to learn about your interests and pursuits both within the legal profession and outside of it.  Many of you have experienced challenges in your personal lives during your time here and yet you persevered.  I have been inspired by your determination, your professionalism and leadership, your work ethic, and your brilliance. To those of you who have reached this milestone while also having worked full- time jobs and/or while raising kids and managing your family lives…a double congratulations. Don’t know how you did any of that but you did.

I look forward to learning about your many accomplishments in the years to come.  Lastly, I hope that throughout your careers you will keep in touch with me and with others in the law school community.

I’m wishing you all the best and congratulations again.

Congratulations to the LLM Classes of July 2019, December 2019, and May 2020!

Thank you for being so wonderful. I will miss you guys!  I know that each of you hit the pause button on your careers to a degree in order to go back to school, and that most of you are far from home.  That was huge decision to make professionally, personally and otherwise.  You took the risk and I hope that this experience was worth it. You have enriched the law school and your classmates by sharing your wisdom and experiences with all of us. I hope that what you have learned at Maryland will enhance your practice and help lead you to a more rewarding career. Thank you for allowing Maryland to be a part of your professional journey.

I look forward to seeing what you will accomplish in the future. I hope that throughout your careers you will keep in touch with me and with others in the law school community.

I’m wishing you all the best and congratulations again.
