What was your most memorable moment at Maryland Carey Law?
My first day

Finish this sentence: I could not have gotten through my LLM without…
the help and support of my family, and the guidance of Dean Edwards.

Who are your mentors? How have they impacted your journey?
Dean Edwards was always there to help me better understand the academic world, encouraging me in my journey, providing pieces of advices to have make the right choices while selecting the classes to take, the career to embrace, etc.

What did you learn about yourself at Maryland Carey Law?
As a wife and a mother of three young boys, it was hard at first to even envision going back to a graduate school. But once I have started, I realized that I was able to push my limits and juggle with all my different hats. I am mentally stronger than before and see life differently.

Who was your favorite professor and why?
Professor Moon was my favorite! He made the contract class so funny and so enjoyable, using reality shows like Shark Tank to make us understand the elements of a contract, the implementation of contracts and the principle of promissory estoppel. I have been exposed to so many real life restaurants, singers (Cardi B), Deans, universities, etc., that Contracts principles were made easy to digest.

What was your favorite class and why?
Business Association was my favorite class. I am passionate about contracts and would like to work in the corporate field. Business Associations gave me some tools and insight that make me feel ready to embrace a career in the corporate world.

Thank you to all the UMB School of law staff and professors who made learning so enjoyable. From the cleaners, techs, to the deans, I do not have enough words to express my gratitude. My experience would not have been so rewarding without you. I am also thankful for all the classmates I had the honor to interact with. Being in contact with such people pursuing excellence helped me push myself to become a better version of myself. Thank you!
