What was your most memorable moment at Maryland Carey Law?
My most memorable moment at Maryland Carey Law was when I entered the Law School on the orientation day. I had been looking forward to it since a year, and it was a very surreal moment for me.

Finish this sentence: I could not have gotten through my LLM without…
I could not have gotten through my LLM without my family and close friends. Even though thousands of miles apart, they have been a part of this journey as if they were right here. They knew about every detail, every bad day, every amazing class that I witnessed during the course of my LLM. They gave me the strength when I was running low on fuel, encouraged me constantly, and celebrated every single success, no matter how big or small it is.
I made some great friends during the course of this journey. Their constant support and company helped me stay sane and gave me a break from the books from time to time. I am very grateful that I met such amazing friends, and even though I might not be able to be with in touch with them, they will always hold a very special place in my heart.
Last but not the least, my Professors, with whom I got the opportunity to interact in and outside the classroom environment, were also a constant source of support for me.

Who are your mentors? How have they impacted your journey?
My parents shall always remain my primary mentors. If I have had a bad day, my Father would remind me the reason why I pursued my Masters and that nothing should deter me from achieving my dreams. He would always ask me to put my blinders on and never look back. As for my mother, simply listening to her voice always gave me a sense of reassurance. She has this magical power to know whether I am having a bad day, just by hearing a “Hello” from me, even though I am miles apart from me. I consider them as a blessing and their presence in my life gives me the strength to move forward.

What did you learn about yourself at Maryland Carey Law?
That no matter how tough the road is, your endurance and perseverance will guide you through the tough times.

Who was your favorite professor and why?
Dean Crystal Edwards has been very instrumental in my LLM journey. She has been a guiding light for me, leading the way and steering into the right direction. Every time I have come out of her office, I have always felt a sense of calm and reassurance. Without her constant support, involvement, guidance, encouragement and training, this journey would not have been the same. I was a part of Prof. Nathan Robertson’s Copyright class. Prof. Robertson’s zeal inside the classroom and his sheer love towards the subject is something I aspire to acquire. He was always welcoming and very supportive.

What was your favorite class and why?
I cannot really choose which was my favorite class because every course I took, the corresponding class had a very different vibe to it. Every class provided me an opportunity to learn and I am grateful for every one of it.

The beginning of every journey seems like a huge mountain to climb and once you are at the top, you realize that the journey wasn’t really that tough. So, the moral of the story is to remind yourself that you have climbed a million mountains already and you would successfully climb this one too!
After all, ain’t no mountain high enough!
Carey On!
