What was your most memorable moment?
Participating in the Fair Housing Clinic’s Eviction Prevention Project. Through this experience, I had the opportunity to directly interact with clients and provide them with legal advice and assistance with their housing issues in the face of the pandemic.

What did you learn about yourself while earning this degree?
I learned that I am a lot more resilient and patient than I originally thought. Sitting at Baltimore Penn and Union Station for hours at a time to get to and from work and school took a lot of patience and there were times when the commute alone made me want to quit, but I always kept in the back of my head that the end goal would be worth it, and I stuck it out for four years.

What was your favorite class and why?
The classes that I took the most from were Advanced Appellate Advocacy, Race and the Criminal Justice System, and Gender in the Legal Profession. These classes pushed me academically and helped me develop my legal writing. The lessons I learned in those classes, I will take with me for the remainder of my legal career.

Write a message.
Thank you first and foremost to my mother for her never ending support throughout the past four years. My mom has served as the perfect example of everything good that I am and that I want to be. I also want to thank my family and friends who have been a sounding board and an incredible source of support for everything I’ve done for the past four years. Thank you to the Office of Senator Cory Booker for trusting me enough to give me the flexibility to continue my education and continue with my job, as well as my friends in the office who have taken meetings for me, gotten me coffee, and given me priceless advice over the past four years. Thank you to Aunt Maria and Aunt Sherry for listening to me practice and perfect my arguments for class. Finally, thank you to my classmates and professors from whom I have learned so much over the past four years.
