IPLT Graduate Highlights

Zachary Paul Birnbaum
In his role as Executive Symposium & Manuscript Editor of the Journal of Business & Technology Law, Zach organized a virtual symposium in the midst of the pandemic focusing on the switch and future outlook of virtual work environments. Zach also earned the Cybersecurity & Crisis Management Certificate and his article “Regulating the Cyberpunk Reality: Private Body Modification and the Dangers of ‘Body Hacking’” has been accepted for publication in the JBTL

Andrew M. Curran
Andrew also earned the Health Law Certificate and has accepted a one-year term clerkship in the chambers of the Honorable Scott L. Rolle, Frederick County Circuit Court.

Krishna P. Gohel
Krishna served as President of the Maryland Intellectual Property Student Association, was Managing Editor for the Journal of Business & Technology Law, and will also complete the Business Law Track.

Stephanie Lauren Haddad
Stephanie served as Judges Committee Captain for the Maryland National Trial Team and will be clerking for the Honorable Harry C. Storm at the Montgomery County Circuit Court.

Taylor E. Hallowell
Taylor has accepted a job in IP litigation at Young Conaway in Wilmington, DE. Taylor earned a CALI award in Advanced Legal Research: Intellectual Property, served as Executive Articles & Symposium Editor of the Maryland Law Review, and was a member of the Moot Court Board.

Simon C. Lasker
Simon served as Treasurer of the Maryland Intellectual Property Student Association and was an Articles Editor for the Journal of Business & Technology Law.

Jared MacKenzie
Jared had his first patent application approved for a augmented reality system.

Louis D. Mari
Louis was an evening student and worked through law school as a Senior Commercialization Specialist for Acuity Edge, Inc.

Drew Murphy Needham
Drew served as the Student Regent on the University System of Maryland’s Board of Regents and has accepted a federal judicial clerkship with the USPTO’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

Christine D. Smith Burton
Christine had an article published in the Journal of Business & Technology Law and served as Executive Technology Editor for the JBTL.

Troy T. Walker
Troy also completed the Business Law Track and will clerk for the Honorable Christopher B. Kehoe in the Maryland Court of Special Appeals.

Carly Renee Yost
Carly was a member of the Student Health Organization, served on the Student Bar Association, and worked as a peer advisor during her 3L year.
